| 2. What is the popping/cracking
sound? |
Actually, not all adjusting techniques produce the sound associated
with "popping knuckles." Some create no sound at all, some
a little or a lot. Many techniques, however, do create
the sound of a joint "release." What
causes it? The mystery may have been solved by a British research
team. It is gas that is in the synovial sac and
"pops" after a pressure change around the joint space.

How does massage in with Chiropractic
care? |
Massage works in conjunction with Chiropractic to allow for greater
ease of adjustment and increasing vascular and lymphatic flows to
clear the body and relax the muscles allowing enhanced treatments.
Some chiropractors will perform therapeutic soft tissue release
using their hands. In general chiropractors do not perform general
massage.
Massage and physical therapy deal directly with only the soft tissues
of the body, i.e. the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Chiropractic
deals with the hard and soft tissues of the body, i.e. the bones
as well as the muscles, tendons and ligaments. Others
will do it with different physical therapy methods such as electric
muscle stimulation and/or ultrasound. Chiropractors will treat the
hard tissues( bones and joints) by means of the chiropractic adjustment.
Chiropractors are licensed in California to administer physiotherapy.
